I like to keep the food simple.
Everyday I give my birds a hand full of dry seed. This is a mixture of different seeds for the agaporniden. The mixture which I use is "obie12”.
In addition, I give the birds daily a mixture of kiemseeds and eivoer. The mixture of seed germination is also of the brand "Obie" and for the eivoer I use orelux. As an extra I add to the germination seed a mixture of some vitamins and proteins.
Sometimes I give the birds a piece of sepia.
During the show period I give the birds some extra sunflower seeds. This happens not in a too high dose. This is because the birds, in my experience, of itself has to have a sufficient stature. The food is only one component, the bird itself has to be already "full" enough.
Sufficient stock of willow branches is a must for me. Both the birds at the nest as the birds are in flight, I give willow branches. The birds that nest in the branches are used as nest material and the birds in the flights are, in my experience, getting better of it.
